Motor Claims Handler

Location: Successful candidates will be expected to attend one of the offices at least once per week, in either Glasgow, Stoke, Leeds or Liverpool.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
 

Davies are looking to recruit an experienced Motor Claims Handler to join our growing Casualty team.
​The Claims Handler Role will be part of the team that is responsible for handling claims on behalf of various clients. Claims Handlers need to provide a quality, proactive, 360 claims service on behalf of important clients and in accordance with the insurer's claims handling philosophy.
 

A Glimpse into Your Daily Responsibilities:

  • Establish if cover is in place for the claim
  • Record all claims on the digital claims handling system
  • Investigate all liability claims either from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters
  • Make the decision on liability
  • Negotiate settlement of the claim
  • Ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLAs
  • Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders
  • Provide referral support to less experienced colleagues
     

Abilities And Knowledge:

  • Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market
  • Knowledge of how to value an injury claim
  • Knowledge of reserving philosophies desirable
  • Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
  • Good communications skills at all levels
  • Excellent customer service
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Take responsibility for your own workload
  • Must be able demonstrate adaptability and flexibility
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills
