This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Manage the Davies Delegated Authority Management capability, provide client with assistance and guidance on Delegated Underwriting Matters and ensure relevant Delegated Authority administration activities are undertaken and completed with reasonable timeframes to a good quality.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the Delegated Authority Management framework, including developing that framework in line with the needs of Clients.
  • Liaise with Clients in relation to their delegated underwriting portfolio management needs, in line with their Delegated Authority strategy & appetite.
  • Manage the relevant approval process for Clients’ MGAs, Coverholders, Lloyd’s Service Companies, Brokers and Consortia, co-ordinating the contributions of all relevant parties and tracking actions - with escalation as needed.
  • Manage the approval process for Client’s Binders, Lineslips & Consortia, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, co-ordinating the contribution of all relevant parties and tracking actions - with escalation as needed.
  • Manage on going administration of Client’s Delegated Authority arrangements administration, addressing post inception changes.
  • Promote active engagement with other Asta teams, particularly DUA, Compliance, Risk and Actuarial.
  • Manage Client’s Delegated Authority audit plan, including due diligence, reviews, audits, including following-up on any recommendations.

 

Key skills and experience required:

  • Communication: good interpersonal and written skills that enable the individual to build trust with senior members of managing agencies, coverholders and brokers.
  • Effective organisational skills and a proactive outlook in setting and prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
  • Good level of numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels and establish strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Confidence in managing, coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Current and relevant experience in a delegated underwriting role.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (or similar) programs, particularly Word and Excel
  • A comprehensive understanding of Lloyd’s requirements for delegated underwriting arrangements, essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the structure and content of binding authority, lineslip, consortium and master policy arrangements.
  • Detailed knowledge of Lloyd’s systems including Atlas, DCOM, DAM, Crystal and Risk Locator, as well as market Bordereau Management tools, essential.
