Davies’ recent and projected growth has created an exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager to join our business. Reporting to the Group Head of Internal Communications, you will run a proactive internal communications program for our UK&I and APAC colleagues, taking ownership of the employee content for monthly newsletters, intranet, leadership townhalls, and other regular internal communications.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide input into the Internal Communications & Engagement strategy - developing and implementing a series of compelling activities and initiatives which deliver this with colleagues.
  • Management of the internal communications calendar to make sure that all communications are timely and engaging.
  • Write clear and compelling messages and campaigns that effectively communicate key information to colleagues and engage them at all levels – ensuring consistent messaging, tone of voice and branding across all internal communication materials.
  • Lead on creating innovative, engaging and informative content for internal communication channels, including newsletters, articles, and video messages, as well as introducing new channels.
  • Ensure that content is tailored to target audiences and aligns with our business messaging and values.
  • Ownership of the UK &I/APAC employee content for monthly newsletters, Intranet, leadership townhalls, and other regular internal communications
  • Work closely with internal functions including HR, IT, Compliance, and Executive Leadership Team to develop the businesses internal communications strategy to deliver engaging employee communication that help deliver the business objectives, as well as develop and enhance the organisational culture through engaging internal communications and employer brand content.
  • Build great working relationships at all levels throughout the business, producing material on behalf of the transformation programme and supporting leaders with effective communication delivery.
  • Optimise our communications channels to ensure we reach colleagues effectively - this includes current channels as well as implementing new ones when required.
  • Ensure a focus on two-way communications and providing opportunities for colleagues to feedback and contribute.
  • Reporting on activity, using key metrics to inform, evaluate and improve our internal communications.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to organise events and initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Stay abreast of emerging communication technologies and platforms to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our channels.
  • Support the implementation of innovative solutions to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among colleagues.

Key skills and experience required

We are looking for an excellent communicator with the writing skills to match, with experience of developing and delivering engaging internal communications for a UK&I/APAC audience - someone who can remain composed in a busy role whilst providing a professional service.

As a team player and contributor, you will be working closely with the Group Head of Internal Communications and the wider internal communications team to develop and deliver high quality internal communications for our colleagues across the business.

 

Other key skills required include

  • An experienced Communications professional, with proven experience (minimum 3+ years) within a mid-level Internal Communications, Colleague Engagement, or related role.
  • Practical experience of delivering effective and engaging internal communications.
  • A degree in a related area – for example English, Communications, Marketing – is desirable but not essential for a candidate with extensive experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing successful colleague engagement plans.
  • Familiarity with communication tools, intranet platforms, and social media for business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Organised and able to balance multiple priorities and work flexibly across communication and engagement areas.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and skilled in communicating with colleagues across various levels of the business and in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
